About the School

A Message from Principal Beth Spicer

Dear Parents,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for a wonderful year, and for all that you’ve done to support the school. Without the efforts of so many of you, Holy Angels couldn’t exist. I have been amazed all year long of the support. It’s an example of how much Holy Angels means to you, and for that I am grateful. You have been generous in your support of the School Committee, PTO, the Sports Committee, fund drives, and the auction.

I would also like to thank you for being so supportive of me in my third year as principal. Your words of encouragement all year have been such a blessing. I would also like to thank Father Amberger and Father Riehle, the school faculty and staff, the parish staff, and the various parish committees for your support and assistance. I feel very blessed to work at Holy Angels.

During the summer, you will receive a letter informing you where teachers will be placed for the 2015-2016 school year. Your child will also receive a letter in early August from your child’s homeroom teacher.

The theme for the 2015-2016 school year is CIA “Christians in Actions”

God Bless,

Beth Spicer

Our History

Established in 1858, Holy Angels Catholic School is located in the heart of Sidney, Ohio. Since its inception, Holy Angels Parish and our parishioners have been dedicated to providing a Catholic education for their children.

For almost 100 years, Holy Angels School housed grades 1 through 12 until 1955 when Holy Angels High School (now Lehman Catholic High School) was built. Since then, the school has continued its long tradition of providing quality education to students in grades K-8. In 1991, an expansion and renovation occurred which provided a separate wing for jr. high students, a computer lab, a science lab and cafeteria.

Our Mission

Holy Angels School is dedicated to the teachings of the Catholic Church. The school acknowledges that children are gifts from God and focuses on their faith formation, academic achievement, and Christian responsibility.

Our Philosophy

Holy Angels School is a Christ-centered community that strives to educate children in partnership with their parents, to provide a curriculum integrated with Gospel values, and to encourage all students to seek and follow their faith.

Our Belief

Impelled by the Gospel message, Holy Angels School believes that:

  • Students will know what it means to be Catholic in the contemporary world and God’s loving plan for them in this world.
  • Students will be academically, emotionally, socially, and religiously prepared, regardless of race, creed, or ethnicity to meet the demands of a changing and culturally diverse world.
  • Educators will continue their own faith formation in order to teach and model Gospel values.
  • Educators will be committed to continue professional development to meet the diverse needs of the various students in their charge.
  • Parents are the prime educators of the children. The school community needs to work as partners with the parents, for it is they who inspire their children by their example, interest, and support.
  • The school community is one that has Christ and His teachings at its center.
  • The school community will provide the means for students to reach their God-given potential.
